Re: lets have fun...who is the best Jr. stocker of all time?
Wagonkiller,
I have a collection of the cams used in those Hydro cars.... Let me know if you need one. LOL.. I still think we should ask to drop the year rule in STOCK. It is no longer appropriate anyway..... |

Don,
Thanks for the reply. I have a picture of a Div 1 SS/CA 65 Dodge with either Don Schall or Don Scholl on the door. It?s hard to tell if it?s an a or an o in the last name. Must be an a though. Ring a bell with anyone? Thanks, Bob Rice |

I think the hardest things to find will be the hydro and 2by4 intake and carbs. Do you think upgrading to power disc brakes will roach the value?(lol got all that stuff except a few minor components)? |

Re: lets have fun...who is the best Jr. stocker of all time?
Wow, old thread, but without mentioning any names, I feel that the most dominant Jr. Stockers of all time were the '57 Chevrolet 283, 270 hp solid lifter dual quad combos----whether it be a wagon, sedan delivery, 2 dr. post, 2dr. hdtp., or even the convertible...the few fuelie 283 hp. cars that were around were killers as well....I would still love to see these cars in stock eliminator today. I was lucky enough to own and race (a 270hp. convertible) one back in the early 60's, when Sunoco 260---(even some areas had 280) was available for around .50 cents per gallon. Times were sure easier on your wallet back then.....:) WJ

$3000 in 1968 dollars !!!!!!! You could buy a brand new car with that check....Try buying a new car with the $$$ you would win today. How about the $10,000 that was put up by Hurst for Super Stock World Champ around that same era...... |
Re: lets have fun...who is the best Jr. stocker of all time?
Dave Boretman's wins in a 69 Chev. Biscayne in 1970 or his wins in 71 383 Dodges in 1971 are a stand out in NHRA and IHRA racing. He had the "Tree" figured out ahead of most.
