Re: Class Nationals event planning
Here's the latest update on the event flyer, blown up now to 11"x17" just to fit all of the amazing and tremendous support that companies both large and small, as well as your fellow racers have pulled together to make this event a reality. I've also reorganized the back to make it easier to find what races have which bonuses available.
...and there are still more announcements to come! :D http://looserocker.com/wp-content/up...ionals14_f.jpg http://looserocker.com/wp-content/up...ionals14_b.jpg You can also download the PDF version at http://looserocker.com/wp-content/up...ationals14.pdf |

Will the SS/K and U/SA shootouts be paired on a ladder so the quickest don't run each other first?

Re: Class Nationals event planning
I'll get with Michael, but if I can I'm going to ladder all the class if we can.

January 2014, Sycamore, IL - In 1995, Auto Meter revolutionized drag racing with the introduction of the Ultimate Playback tachometer, which featured patented technology allowing the user to record and compare up to 4 passes of engine RPM data at 100 samples per second, providing essential and accessible performance information in the hands of sportsman racers in a familiar and easy to use package. In 2001, Auto Meter introduced Generation 3 Ultimate II tachometers, adding innovative Tach Facts Software and the ability to record and compare both engine and driveshaft RPM on either the tach itself or a PC. These critical instruments have helped racers fine tune and diagnose clutch and converter strategies, nail their shift points, and improve their launch consistency for nearly 20 years. Today, Auto Meter is prepared to shock and awe the drag racing world again with the launch of the next generation of the legendary Ultimate tachometer line. Meet the Ultimate III and the Ultimate DL, which place the power of more advanced Data Acquistion systems in an affordable, convenient, and compact package. Yes, the same DataPro software found on professional STACK Motorsports data acquisition systems! -Onboard tri-axis accelerometer to provide advanced data about vehicle acceleration and launch, working intelligently with DataPro software to pin point not only when, but where particular events occurred on the track!. -Backed by contingency in NHRA, IHRA, NMCA, and NMRA, a 1 year competition warranty, and Auto Meter's legendary customer service and race support team More advanced users should consider the Ultimate DL (DataLogger) which adds to your information arsenal by providing connections for, and ability to record Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio and Pressure channel data to the Ultimate III features above, which can help you diagnose fuel delivery issues, improve power tuning, and raise MPH in the traps. Put simply, Ultimate III and Ultimate DL tachometers from Auto Meter provide all the essential tools needed to dial in your setup minus the complication or expense. Perhaps the best news of all? Re: Class Nationals event planning
Good looking flyer, Michael. 10 bucks a day for spectators is much better than I was expecting, for all we'll get in return. Is there a 3 day pass available? Just planning ahead.

Each spectator flyer will have three $5-Off coupons on it, one for each day. People are more than welcome to pick up multiple flyers for family and friends. (Difference between "Crew" and "Spectator" is that spectators will not have Restricted Area wristbands) There's no particular 'weekend pass' discount. Rather than charge $20/day and then start discounting for 2-day or 3-day passes, we decided to keep it straightforward and simple at $15/day. Crew can purchase their restricted area wristband covering all three days at the gate on Thursday or Friday. The discount program is intended to reach an outside spectator audience. Whatcha think, can we put 3,000 people/day in the stands? :D |

Still trying to keep up with Ed Carpenter here... ;)
https://scontent-b-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/...98205235_n.jpg When you kick off an event, why not kick it off with a clutch pedal? Trumble Racing Engines will pay $200/WIN, $100/RU, plus $300 to the #1 Qualifier, all in the SS/K Shootout, one of the featured classes during the heads-up Lucas Oil Class Eliminations to be contested on Friday, May 2. Thanks once again to SS/K racer Ed Carpenter who has worked tirelessly to put together these sponsorship programs for his class. Re: Class Nationals event planning
Michael, will I be able to race your event with my 64 Hemi car? I have cylinder heads that were NHRA legal until August of 2013, but but now they're declared illegal?
I also have a rebored cam tunnel, Pro stock style transmission, multi-disc clutch, Carbs that are not in the original mounting configuration, digital electronics etc, etc. But all of that is OK with them I have an illegal 1/4-20 bolt hole. Me thinks that NHRA has a 1/4-20 issue, I'm hoping you don't. I need a new place to race because I dont have 20K to fix my 1/4-20 holes. If I can race with you, I may open up the bottom of all my 1/4-20 bolt holes because it make my car sooooo fast. If I can't race with you, maybe you can reclassify me as a SS/AH. I think that the AH stands for Any Hole or All Hole or Allowed Holes or some kind of Hole? I look forward to your answer, unlike some organizations, I know you will give me an answer. In case this tongue in cheek post doesn't ring with you, be glad your not involved with this nonsense. Really, I hope this event is successful beyond your wildest dreams and the northern race breed's a southern, eastern, western, mid-southern etc. |

Y'all didn't see this post on Facebook...

Yes, I'm glad I'm not involved in nonsense. We try not to get involved in micromanaging things that are the sanctioning bodies' responsibility, even though we don't necessarily agree with every decision they make. Additional Class Nationals events would run the risk of diluting a "destination event", and a southern or western event would need to be able to draw a significant car count to be viable. Logistics would play a part in an event far outside of our own physical region, and then there's the issue of scheduling. We've daydreamed about a Vegas event some year, but the associated track rental would likely be cost-prohibitive. There's a smaller base to draw from, and they've already got back-to-back National/LODRS events. I've studied up on Bristol or Bowling Green for an October date. (Just talking out loud, don't read too much into it.) Memphis is great, but gets into the car count issue. Just not a high car count per capita ratio in the Midwest. You also have the issue of trying to generate sponsorship for an additional event. If we did a second race, it would probably be several years down the road. Our goal is to do this event to the best of our ability, and then concentrate on how to provide you with a better product in 2015. Quote:

Re: Class Nationals event planning
Any plans for event merchandise?,,,, T-shirts, hats, DVDs and so forth? My original USCNs decal still stares at me when I walk up to my tool cabinet,, the T-shirt still looks good even though I don't wear it anymore. Just curious as to what might be available. Maybe "Shootout" items?

Will do what we can, but the budget's going to be stretched thin as it is after the advertising campaign. We cannot thank all of our event sponsors enough. We literally could not do this without them! |
Re: Class Nationals event planning
The question has been asked regarding single car classes in Class Eliminations. As noted on the flyer, there are no "Class Combos". Single cars win Class (provided they've made a legitimate run, i.e., pass tech, fuel check, weight.)

The man that started it all with the original US Class Nationals way back in 2001, Alex Denysenko, along with his wife Beth and son Tony are stepping up to support this year's event. Their business, MoneyMaker Racing will post a non-contingent cash award of $50 to the winner of the SS/K Shootout (or $100 if it's a Ford!), as well as a $50 non-contingent award to the winner of the Stock and Super Stock Main Event Eliminators. Denysenko, a multi-time IHRA Div. 5 Super Stock champion, with his wealth of knowledge and experience makes all the difference with his customers, going beyond competitive pricing and quick shipping with the R&D knowledge to help customers choose the right parts and setups the first time, and help them understand *why* they're right. Tap into that resource at www.moneymakerracing.net, on Facebook at www.facebook.com/MoneymakerRacing, or give them a call at 219-861-1214. While Denysenko has enjoyed great success both on the track and at the shop, it is his brainchild of the US Class Nationals in 2001 that will forever be remembered as the pinnacle in the history of Stock and Super Stock racing. It is for that incredible event and all the work that made it happen that we honor Alex Denysenko at the Auto Meter Northern Class Nationals as our Grand Marshal. (*We are contractually obligated to note that this does make him any relation to Bob or Craig.) |
