Frank,

Here is Sox & Martin running Pro/Stock at the 1970 NHRA Winternationals with a
full-width body length rear tail-fin.

Ed Miller used a rear fin-spoiler in 1970 when running in Pro/Stock.
But this one is a different style.

The Ed Miller rear spoiler was trunk width only. Was still with the car on a fiberglass lid.

Sox & Martin

Had a Rear-Deck Fin on their 1968 Barracuda at the
1969 Super Stock Magazine Nationals at York, Pennsylvania.

It was mounted on the Barracuda that was running in X/SS.

Could they have been from a Camaro ........

Chevrolet Camaro Rear-Deck Fins
* 1968 ........ 59" Width x 4 1/2" Height
* 1969 ........ 61" Width x 4 1/4" Height

Well,,, since Ronnie was driving the '70 Cuda at Pomona that year, and went to a final round loss to Bill Jenkins and his '68 Camaro,, who was driving the old 'Cuda in the photo? My eyes aren't that great anymore, but it looks like it says Don Carlton on the door,,, I'm sure someone knows the answer. Also looks like Wally Parks standing behind the trunk,, all dappered out. Thanks for any info.

The rear deck spoiler pictured on Ronnie's '69 Barracuda Pro Stock looks very similar to the spoiler offered on the '69 Barracuda Savage GT. Auto Craft was a little known Wisconsin based auto company that converted 13 fastback Barracudas into unique, and legitimate, consumer cars. The entire deck lids / spoilers were made from fiberglass.

Excellent Mr. a990-Hemi,

Yes, that Rear-Deck Fin on the Sox & Martin car is molded with
the Fiberglass Deck-Lid.

Auto Craft out of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin produced those units
in late-April 1969.

Owner {George Prentice Jr.} and a few friends came up with the
design for the Savage GT, which was to compete against the
Shelby GT350 in a series of Can Am races in 1969.

The picture is Indy in 1968. It was taken from the top of the pedestrian crossover bridge when it was positioned closer to the starting line. The west staging lane tower can be seen at the end of the employ parking lot where as an employ of NHRA, I parked in later years. That was back when the return road was behind the old tower and ran straight to the front of the west staging lanes.

Here's Tom Myl's car in the Paint booth at Bucky &Travis Hess Body shop. Travis doing an awesome job on the paint scheme.

I just figured out how to post pictures here. I have a lot of pictures on Tom's car, of its whole career. It never went missing or crashed one of the rarest BO29 Hemi Barracuda around today.

You can follow the build here

Not meaning to take anything away from the car, but after what you guys did to bring it back to factory configuration, I'm skeptical that never crashed matters any more.

It means a lot No fake parts here.
It has all its original fiberglass fenders, front bumper, Hood, radiator support, Glass, Quarters and so on, everything in originals except the floors(because they were cut up) But replace with 68 Barracuda parts car.

Very few of these factory built cars survived without the modifications that were done to keep them competitive. I believe it was these mods that kept these cars in the limelight of being the iconic badass cars they are today. As far as I am concerned, bringing a legit car back to day 1 status is complementing the people that made that car what it was back then, along with preserving a piece of racing history for many years to come.
Now, if someone retags or rebodys a car that is a whole different matter.

As far as I'm concerned, what identifies a car as what it came off the assembly line as, is it's OE stamping numbers & the panels they were stamped on. The rest is only sheet metal with part numbers.

the car below is a 1971 hemicuda convertible. VERY RARE car
It has been fully restored since because the numbers were still on the cowl & rad cradle ID'ing as one. It has been accepted by very notable, high end collectors as being today a real car. This is an extreme case but just used as an example.
