Could be the case with GFR too...Eddie?

You know Mark, some bands that I consistently listened too as a kid I cant stand anymore. Grand Funk is one of them. I hear their stuff and think, Seriously? I really liked that? That's Awful... Other ones that I could have done without, like Ambrosia, I really like. Must be part of getting old. But these are the exceptions. Joni Mitchell, Grateful Dead, Bruce Springsteen are some of my "change the channel fast" and always have been. There's just something I don't like about them, they seem almost irritating.
Heres something new I stumbled on. Tasty ...

Jeff, Joni doesn't bother me. I only like a couple of songs though. The Dead..A lot of their stuff is in the acoustic vein, and that's fine with me..includes all the side projects of Jerry and Bob. I used to like some Springsteen songs but apparently he doesn't want my business..Much obliged .
As Alice and Gene Simmons say..People want to hear you sing...not proselytize.

Now, here it comes..

1, Robert Plant's moany groany voice drives me up a wall. I'm sure he's a good guy and a survivor, and the band had some great players

2, The AC /DC guys. I guess I should call them 2 A and 2 B...Like nails on a blackboard :-O

Carry on...

I mentioned Alice Cooper earlier.
Ol' Vince was a PT Barnum huckster with his act, I believe, but actually if you ever listened to his radio program, he knows a lot about good music, including this cover of The Left Banke's follow up of Walk Away Renee' >

Pretty hard to top this one with a cover version>

Re: Musical Tastes

another cover of "walk away Rene" you might like would be the Southside Johnnie version on his studio album "at least we got shoes", he also has it on some of his live albums but the sax kinda lacks the soul of the studio version

RIP Gary Wright.
Gary got his start in Spooky Tooth. Only die hard deep track addicts liked or followed Spooky Tooth... But I did, maybe Mark too.

Haven't had much inspiration lately...I did hear this on Pandora today though.
I've done this one before...It's a remake of their 1965 hit, that was on a reunion album in 1975..Just a touch of steel added :-)

Re: Musical Tastes

Speaking of AG , this song, from 1961, was used in the film .
The bogus BB version was released in 1965, so would have been too new for "Where were you in '62.." (More on this tomorrow)
