" Does anybody know if a scattershield was ever made for the slant 6?"
You have to use a adapter plate and a small block bellhousing. |

I knew it wasn't required Mark, I was just thinking if there were any floating around it would be nice to get a hold of one for added strength and safety. I can't help but think that a 4spd 2-bbl Super Six could be competitive in U or V, question is could it be done on a budget and live?? I have a bunch of B-body 8 3/4 stuff that would bolt in and a couple of 833 A-body 4spds(one Liberty) that are also a direct bolt in, you would have to live with the ratio but I think they would survive ok behind a 2900lb "buzzin half dozen" if the clutch was right. It would be fun to play with since I have several of these cars and engines floating around..lol! |

I'd slick- shift the Chrysler 4 speed and try it. Get yourself an approved diaphragm p.p. and rag disc and shim it out a little until it barely wants to slip on the 3-4 shift. We're not spending any money on this thread..remember . |
Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
What about the LB8v6 FI engine 2.8 132 hp in the same Camaro 1987? I've tried to find the carb version in many scrapyards and no luck on the carb and intake. Claude

Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
In 1971 my H/G slant 6 powered 4 speed Anglia broke cranks off at the fywheel flange on two different engines. The motor still ran both times, the flywheel just didnt turn. Other people say they never heard of it but Im just telling you what happened, they will break

Re: Some "Dime Rockets" for the 4TH!
This has been quite the interesting post, especially for those looking to get into the class on a "budget" if there even is such a thing in this class.
Would this combo be any good? 67 Plymouth/Dodge 273 4bbl which is factory rated at 235hp but only rated 210 by NHRA. These were 10.5-1 motors with a falt tappet cam and adjustable rockers. Only reason i ask is i have one of these engines sitting under our bench out of a 67 Dart GT i once had. In a Barracuda fastback looks like it would be an M car. |
