If we stop signing up for nationals , maybe nhra would reconsider this BS fee.

Good luck with that one Frankie. As long as there is a Wally to be had, someone wants to grab it.

Off Topic?
Go out and support your local S/SS associations.
Why bother at all with national events, and divisionals' for that matter .
If you don't intend on competing for a national or divisional title what is the point.
Go to your nearest S/SS assoc race and believe me your eyes will be opened, racing can be fun again.

Like the great Indy boycott of 2 years ago....yea, right. You might recall some prominent racers said they were willing to do that but eventually the resolve weakened. I'm going to pass along to my SRAC rep that the insurance surcharge is a leverage point that sportsman racers should protest...I get really tired of walking by 10 DSR Freighliners (or 10 JFR for that matter) and knowing I'm helping foot the bill for those rigs..the PRO's should be paying every penny of the insurance costs associated with protecting spectators and their personnel.

And I agree we should collectively support the S/SS associations and I will do better at that next year, might even leave my car with friends in Kentucky and run the BG series, nice track and nice folks.

A great post Dan! Thanks for the common sense. Of course I am just a little prejudice on the subject of the S/SS Association subject, but they will eventually be the only game in town. The Associations are only as good as YOU the racer make them. If you don't support them they will go away also. Jim

Re: Live from Maple Grove Raceway - NHRA Auto Plus Nationals

Class Act! Due to NHRA's lack of giving 2 s*#ts about 200 guys parked in the middle of nowhere, and showing up @ 6pm to tell us to go home, most if not all of us are getting f#%ked with our hotel bills, that we didn't use! I could maybe see where they had "no options" for us, like I'm sure that what they spent the day worried about and not painting lines on the blacktop to make sure the pros wouldn't even have to put there garbage cans on grass. The problem is simple, NHRA simply believes that because we keep taking these constant changes, price increases and disrespect we must all be millionaires that could care less about travel and accommodation costs or taking never ending amounts of days off! The answer is we can't, but we love the sport, and we sacrifice too much for that love. BTW, they can't treat pros like us because they are all broke!(minus a few teams) and if they had to incur any additional expenses, like we do(constantly), the teams NHRA "begs" to show up, couldn't even leave their shop. Just remember NHRA, when the day comes that your pro fields go from 16 to 8 to 4 and then match racing Force vs Schumacher! You had the opportunity to have a real show with real, passionate participants. But I still love this sport and because I can't stay away, c u all next weekend!
