Perseverance Pays Off

Finally found all of the wheels and tires we needed. N.O.S. front Cragar Super Tricks and some
very nice rears. Also located and purchased brand new never mounted 14 x 32 Firestone Drag
500 slicks with the liners and the stickers still on them. Have new Moroso DS-2's for the front.

During the search and not to take a chance on missing anything, also purchased some 98% front
Tricks (pictured with tire mounted) and some 90% 15 x 14 rears. These, along with the original wheels
from the car (that had been polished) will be available if anyone has the need (send a PM).

Well, more problems getting this thing rolling. The "brand new never mounted 14 x 32 Firestone Drag 500 slicks with the liners and the stickers still on them" showed up. Yes, they are brand new and beautiful but are not "Drag 500's" which is not a deal breaker but they are W's which we had specifically been told they were not. Two inches too wide for what we have to have. If anybody has a use for them, let me know.

In the meantime I am still looking for regular 14 x 32 (non W) Firestone Drag 500 slicks. I could also use the newer non Drag 500 blackwall versions. The newer the better. Any help finding a pair will be much appreciated!

Thanks for sharing the pics..........looking good.
I always liked the Duster / Demon better than the Challenger / Cuda's.

Flash UPDATE:

Motor under construction at Steve Atwell's. Since we aren't racing and won't likely be P&G'd on the show
field we opted for an aluminum headed 572 (it will all be painted).

Other details held close to the vest at this time but suffice it to say that it will look and sound the part.

Does anyone have a color picture of a 75+ Leal 16-plug Hemi that shows the color of the spark plug wires?
The only pictures I have (from the Peterson archives) are B+W. I didn't ask if anyone remembers what color
they were because, well, you know......

Last pics (as far as I know) for final test fitting of dummy motor, trans, headers and clutch linkage
before disassembly for finish painting. Everything fits great with proper clearances; clutch linkage
works like butter.

They appear to be red in this picture:

Thanks Charlie. I've got that picture but that is a different car.

His '73 Pro Stock Duster. Mine is the '75 B/MP Duster (picture below).

I did just buy a set of doors off of the tribute car for the '73 Pro Stocker (for wall hangers).

As heavily researched as I know your car is. I was guessing you had that picture already. Most of what I found from that era , and I am sure you have also, either had red or gray wires.
