Cool is cool, especially when it's too cool, no matter what brand. :D

Can anyone identify the two Barracudas in the background?

what spindle?

Re: Original Hemi Cuda Info.......

I'm definitely not trying to be a know it all, but on my Dart, it used a Dart spindle, with a Dart rotor, that came with the 4 1/2" pattern, and a Dart 4 piston caliper. When I got my Dart it had been stripped on some of the special parts, and that was something I had to find, because that is one of the special things that they did with the '68 Hemi Darts, and '68 Hemi Cudas. I found a set of rotors, with the 4 1/2" bolt pattern off of another original '68 Hemi Cuda in Pennsylvania (this was way before the internet), made a deal on them, and the UPS drivers went on strike, and it took me months to get them. I wondered if they would ever make it to me!
Now I could be totally wrong, and somebody else might give you another answer, but this was my case. Mark Janaky is the man to ask.
If you have any more questions on how have done now to preserve the special rotors, you can contact me.
Just my 2 cents,
Dan

I have never seen the green Barracuda with the fish scales that John Hagen ran in the early days. That car is said to be an original "BO29 code" car.

The dark candy red Barracuda that John Hagen was running in the mid 1970s was a 1969 car converted into a 1968. In the late 1970s it was sold to Rick Johnson, who still has the car, I am told.

I took all the original brake stuff off my car & didn't take pics of it sorry Dave.. It's all boxed up & stored & really hard to get too .

As far as I have been able to fiqure on these things is that the calipers are Kelsey Hayes 4 piston, the spindles are 67-69 maybe 70 disc brake, but the rotors are very specific to these cars only being 4 1/2" BC. I've heard they were originally used for the rally or road race cars. I saw what looked to be a very close rotor on a 68 SCJ Mustang using the Kelsey calipers.

Have you checked Jim Schilds book he published. I remember some good pics & info in there I believe.

Dave,
Dan & Daryl are correct. The only differences are the rotor & hub with the 4.5" bolt circle and 1/2" studs. I believe the std A-Bodies had 7/16" studs. The calipers are the std K-H 4-piston and the control arms are the factory non-sway bar ones.

Great shots of the West Virginia Hemi cars Mopar68! Two of my favorites, and two of the cleanest cars I've ever seen at a drag strip. These were taken at Indy, but I don't remember what year....

Hmmm... Always thought the white car was a new paint scheme... never checked with the #:s. Looks like this one also was original BO?
Was the #1073 car from around ยด78 a third car?...
Thanks, great pics...

This is an interesting ongoing thread. This car has a rear quarter panel mounted antenna, is that the normal location? Or is the front fender the normal location? Thx!

What was used for gas line and pick up?

Should I use the original dual point distributor?

In Indy Nationals in 2004 I told Eddie we were going to Mooresville,Nc to see our son.
I asked if we could stop in & see his shop, I told him then I would NOT share pictures, but now I think it would be O.K.......He told me he had 15 SS/aa cars in different places.
