Ballots are NOT addressed to "resident." They are sent and addressed only to the registered voter. Regoistered voters have to sign the ballot and the signature is compared to their voter registration signature before the ballot is opened. I am not sure about all states but in most states, each ballot has a bar code that identifies the registered voter it is from.

Absentee voting and mail-in voting are handled the same way.

That is not true.

Absentee ballots must be requested in person with verification of the voter in person.
In Texas it is verification of voter registration, address, and your photo ID.
Then the ballot can be mailed.

Mail in ballots are just sent out without verification of anything other than an address and in most recent cases are not even requested by anyone.

Mail out/in ballots are easily filled out by anyone who gets their hands on it.
What could possibly go wrong?

Only registered verified voters should have their votes counted.

If we can go to Walmart and stand in line we should be able to go vote.

Maybe they should make Walmart's voting places. Then people would not have to wait in line for 4 or more hours to vote.

I have voted every election since I was of voting age which was 21 in my case back in 1970 and I have never waited in line more than a few minutes.
I have lived in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska and never had issues.
If you have to wait 4 hours to vote your election commission needs to be replaced.
Voters have power to make changes and those who only want to complain about petty issues need to get a life.

It depends on the state. In Pennsylvania, for example, mail-in ballots must be requested as well. Only a couple of states mail them out to all registered voters but they only mail them to registered voters.

Incorrect again. You have to sign the outside of a mail-in ballot envelope, That signature is compared to the signature on the voter registration rolls, just as when you vote in person. If the signatures do not match, the mail-in ballot is rejected. That all happens before the ballot envelope is opened so no one knows the vote inside.

FYI - You can have purchases from Walmart delivered. No need to go stand in line.

You just made my own point. Only a couple of states? I believe CA is mailing to resident without a name.

Not incorrect. Do you really think every ballot out of millions of mail in will really be checked. If you really believe that I have a bridge to sell you.

Not everyone is as lazy as some and want to be catered to with delivery of every day necessities.
In Texas we take care of ourselves.
You will not convince me and I won't convince you so this is the end of the conversation.

It would be nice if things settled down a little and the one thing that was normal this year was the election process, but I don’t think that will be the case. Most on this site have been through many tough times for our country and this is one more, god bless this country, greatest one on the planet. Imagine this, we are the best, the others must really have it bad. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Why are the voting/ballot/ election issues always in the blue states? I've been voting since 1978 and have NEVER had to wait anything over a few minutes and I lived in Omaha for 11yrs too.

EVERY time there is a close race in a blue state with the democratic trailing...shazam!...found some ballots in a trunk of a car and they are ALWAYS from a heavily populated democrat district.

Easy to imagine "finding" several sacks of "mailed" in ballots sitting in a post office undelivered to the vote counting place. Of course we can't disenfranchise anyone by not counting "legitimate" ballots.

If you can put your life saving mask on and go out to who knows where for who knows what you can take your a** down to your polling place and vote like REAL citizens have done in this country for centuries. If that's asking too much request an absentee ballot.

I know a few of y'all hate this thread being here. Well, you're really going to hate it now.
I was right about BO..That was proven.... Dirty!

This one is clear cut too.
Realize , if she survives and Biteme then kicks it, who do you suppose will bring this up again? That's right, President Pelosi...
