If you take the turbo off (redo the engine). You can run SS/FS with the car.

isnt the SS/M? record by Mark Walton at Kearney with a SVO mustang? So its either run it in SS/MX or as a comp car?

well, what would you recommend? run stock m with a 302 5 speed combo, or superstock 5 speed 302? what about modified SS?

Mark Walton's car is a pre SVO non- intercooled FI turbo. Available in all Mustang body styles in 1983.

It would make one hell of a good Q/Stocker

Incidentally, you can't make a 79 into a 93 with just bolt ons. There are differences in the cowl vent area . But you can fake it.
It's not quite a blatant as 68 CJ heads on a 67 model

Ford offered the turbo in non SVO mustangs, look in the class guides.

John...if you read all the previous posts, he has been talking about the SVO engine all this time.

I'm probably wrong but I don't think there is any difference. You just need the right part numbers for the year claimed.
