Yeah, they get $64 each a year. And they say the Dragster absorbs 1/2 of that.

I doubt they get much in the way of TV rights for us. We get one show for an hour per event, and only alcohol cars get covered (we personally actually got 15 seconds at the end of the Gators' show).

NHRA considers the pros as the ones drawing the vast majority of the gate, and if you've looked at souvenirs, you know NHRA makes their money off of their own stuff and off of the pros.

I'd LOVE to say we generate more than we do, and that we have a bunch of leverage. I just don't see that we do. We're not well marketed, NHRA doesn't want to and doesn't care to, and we are too busy beating each other to death to act in our own best interest.

It seems that EVERY thread about S/SS boils down to the same argument that we dont get enough
coverage and or attention.Then fact has and will forever be that the majority of fans couldn't give two
s#&@* about S/SS.They want smoke,fire and noise.Poor Dick Butler needs to enter an alzheimers
facility.It's admirable to think that his hairbrained schemes are going to save us from oblivion but it just isn't going to happen.Plain and simple NHRA just wants our $$.We get less and less every season and pay more and more.I make posts that may rub some people the wrong way only because I sit and read some of them and it's actually a small circle of people either with an agenda or the inability to stop and think of the way their solutions will affect others.I have no answers that would appeal to the majority of S/SS racers and either does anyone else.Especially those who dont even race and post ideas to save us from ourselves.

Not a clue
 

There are so many people making statements and presenting it as fact, because they think if they say it is has to be true.

This is for the people that don't have a clue.

NHRA in the past paid Stock & Super Stock racers qualifying money.

NHRA paid the first round loser in a qualified field, which are Class Winners and the fastest of the losers.

In addition, it's not Class Winner Bump In; it's that the losers get a chance to race because they need a full field to cut down on bye runs.

The field can be 32 car, 64 car or 128 car (that's as high as the ladders go)

As usual along with NHRA not getting it, it also appears that a lot of Class Racers (or want to be) don't get it either.

Here's something for people who can't grasp reality. Be careful, you're about to step on a clue rake.

First off, if you can prove you have a better grasp on the math, post it. I'd like to see it.

Second, Wally Parks died last year, and the NHRA that was non profit and dedicated to sportsman racing and safety died about 20 years before Wally did. That past is gone, and it is never coming back.

Third, if you've got more facts with regards to what is happening NOW, post them. But what happened in the past and your emotions are neither facts nor relevant to what is happening and what will happen.
