Does anyone know what happened? I read online that he hit both walls, but that was all it said. I am shocked that he would be fatally injured from something like that. This is a terrible tragedy. It would be good if we could all learn something from this, that is why I would like to know how this happened.

I will update as often as I can.. they are investigating everything thoroughly.....I know that Doug's family appreciates everyone's condoleneces. Please keep them in your thoughts.

We met Doug a few years ago at Columbus Nats. Wonderful guy!

Sorry to hear of this loss. It seems to be happening WAY too often as of late, or is it just me??

Our condolences and thoughts go out to Doug's family. I still can’t believe it. Doug was a super nice guy, even making a point to stop by Saturday night after the shootout, though we were merely just casual racing acquaintances. Always had a smile and a wave in the staging lanes. I guess that’s just the kind of guy he was. I’ve raced him a few times over the years and it was always a tough round.

Man, I just don't know what to say. Doug was a great guy and a great racer. He and his parents always had a way of making your day better, just by a smile and a wave. God speed Doug.
