Would we be able to put 50-60psi of fuel pressure through this new cool can? It is something I have wanted to try for consistency with a slow fuel injected car, but never wanted to put that much pressure to the moroso unit.

i believe so. However let me check with them monday and I will give you a 100% answer

Ice doesn't last very long with a return system. If you have a "deadhead" regulator, it's will last at least a run or two. But with a return system, you will be lucky to get to the staging lanes b4 you need to reice it.

Anyone ever do back to back runs with can and then w/o ice in the can? Would be interested to see what the ET pickups are, if any.

Re: Cool Cans?

"Back in the day" my cars were quicker using them. We had to run the fuel through the factory mechanical fuel pumps then, but Stockers were much more stock than todays cars. EFI cars don't have engine mounted pumps to put heat in the fuel, so I'm not sure how much it would be worth. That is something I have wanted to test. Anybody know how or if lower temps would effect fuel checks?

The colder the fuel, the denser the charge so the faster it will go. Now, depending on the fuel you use it may or may not show a difference. Back in the day when i ran purple (cam II) it didnt make a difference. Now when i switched to the supreme, i had a issue with the cool can and didnt use it. The car slowed down .04. Good thing i had the bye that round. Chad let me know about the #10 cool can. I made a #10 line to the carb and the only restriction in my system now is the cool can. (only 3/8 pipe fittings). That why the fuel flow will pick up going to the carb. Thanks, Duane

I use the Moroso and I am very happy with it. Never had a problem.

I have picked up about .05 on a hot day. Cooler days you won't pick up as much. Fuel is already cool. Another thing I use to do is put my fuel jug in an Igloo packed with ice. I ran just as consistent as with a cool can. I would always drain al the fuel out of my tank before each race (not round) and fill it up with the cool fuel and did away with the cool can. We usually started racing in the late afternoon and being the tank in the trunk it wouldn't have enough time to heat backup. Enclosed trailers are nice, :). Worked for me anyway.

Ran one back in the old days when fuel had to run thru the stock pump as said previously, but didn't see much diff after going to elec pumps mtd in back. Tried icing manifold in SS car and that works better, the only problem was keeping the intake charge temp constant. The only time I do it now is in a heads up race when everything is on kill. I found consistancy suffers if you try and do it all the time, because of temp differences ie: air, track, underhood etc. My 2 cents, Good Luck

I do use and insulating material around the fuel lines under the hood to protect from heat.

Re: Cool Cans?

Now that is what a cool can should look like! I am not the least bit impressed with the moroso super cool can after taking mine apart. I'm sorry but it does show a weak link in the sealing dept. as mine filled the bucket with fuel and you can plainly see why after dismantling and I really question the fuel flow capabilities. Anyone else had theirs apart? Moroso does sell new gaskets but not that readily available. Part no.65125160 for the gasket.
