I spent alot of time and $$$ 12 years ago to have my heads pour legal,so what do they do,quit pouring.I've seen heads that looked like the holland tunnel on lots of engine combos,so it would be hard to keep up with those. So guys you have till 2010 to "GO FAST",hopefuly.

I always thought this was supposed to be fun. Too many sticks in the mud most of the time though.

You all have fun with your heads up hoorah. I will keep on hiding in a class where I don't have to worry about heads up... and have more fun while I am there!

If the only time they tear anyone down is when they set a record, what difference does it make? What do you get for setting record in IHRA? There is no heads up for the championship, no random teardowns (that I've ever seen or heard about) so its all just a no box bracket race. Who really gives 2 ****s what the runner volumes are?

Exactly.

There need to be some sort of rules or class racing will cease to exist. There are already enough racers who can afford to do more than I can to be fast. Teardowns may not be as common as NHRA, but I don't mind the possibility. There can be heads-up races to go through at events leading up to the championship run-off. Otherwise, why not just race locally?

Besides, I like to give the people who help me out a little recognition on the records page and it usually gets an extra pic in the paper.

This brings to mind the "divide and conquer" strategy. Seems like some people want class racing to be "open", JUST like a bracket race so it can be "fun" while others want to combine Stock and SS. My opinion is that both ideas stink. Don't build a class car if you don't want rules to worry about and if you want Stock and SS combined, build the more expensive SS car. If port volume specs come out for Stock, that will be the best thing to happen in the class in a long time. Stock isn't perfect and will never satisy everybody. But if everybody want something different, the class will be divided and disappear, and may take SS with it.

STOCK

If 2 competitors are in the same class at the World Finals Tournament of Champions they will run off of a dial in.

You're kidding right?

I think if you have nothing to hide you don't have anything to worry about.

What is going to happen when these runner volumes are published and the numbers published are 20 cc's bigger than a racers perfectly untouched stock heads? Does the racer get to "acid" their untouched heads to match the approved numbers?

Says the same thing for SS! Seems both are trying to dumb it down, getting more and more like AHRA all the time. Too many classes for lazy guys to hide in, and too soft standards. Guys will start racing rental cars if it keeps going like this.

What a joke!

Agreed but lets face it, every car has something in the GREY area if its looked at hard enough. I didnt say ILLEGAL, I said GREY area. Now after saying that what if a racer spends more time in the tech trailer telling BS stuff on other racers than his own pit area, to the point the tech guys are tired of it. And yes I'm beating around the bush on the this topic.
