We wont even consider National events at this point, the expense is ridiculous, almost need a week off to attend, and if you are not chasing "World Points" (which we are not) it does not help your division points. So for us it makes no sense, and the "novelty" of being at a National has worn off a long time ago.

Just Curious do all of these fee increases apply to the "PRO" racers? Or does the sportsman racer only have to take it up the shorts!

The other insult ,besides the cert fee increase ,is as I was told, the chassis inspectors are being paid less per cert than in the past.......Nhra has no regard for whom it screws! ......Tom

Well after poor Tom took that 10% pay cut from his NHRA President Salary of $545,000- and his NHRA Board of Directors Salary of $250,000 the poor boy could not afford the Bentley he bought....Cut the poor guy some slack!

Lucky NHRA, digging into our pockets again. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do about it. Our car runs 8.80's so we are due for an inspection next week plus Rick just got his physical on Wednesday so dig into our pockets a little farther for the increase in license fees. But it will not stop us from going to the track. My family has had a rough year so far, so we are ready to get back out and race with our friends. My dad took a nasty fall in January and is now confined to a wheel chair and we had to put our 17 year old cocker spaniel, Clyde down in February. So this distraction of the smell of fuel and the noise might help us all.

Take care guys. See you in a couple weeks, I hope.

Aww c'mon guys...we all know his DUI court case is coming up and he can't pay the lawyers fees!

Dad and I talked about this and I feel bad for the chassis cert guys who maybe got a little extra for taking time out of their schedule. Not anymore...and as for national and divisional events, the words "been there, done that" come to mind. I am happier (and coming home with more money in my pocket, and not only from winnings!) running my Nova in Street and Heavy and the dragster occasionally in Super...

Thanks to these "economic times" I am having more fun that I have had in the past...go figure!
