Re: Richardson SS/AS Camaro
Tracy its 8.50 per cid. Min is 3180 no mater how small you are with an auto. I know this class very well, more than most. The biggest reasons are purpose built motors and old b/a motors. That car is fast I love it now there is some competion in ss/as.

Re: Richardson SS/AS Camaro
I have it on good authority that someone is building a FORD of all things for this class. Should be out mid summer and may actually run pretty good. Hmmmmm.

Re: Richardson SS/AS Camaro
I understand the 8.50 per ci rule, just wish you could go below minimum. At that minimum the smallest engine you can build is 394. I considered running it but had to give up too much weight for my little 362 and wouldn't come close to being competitive. Just my opinion because based on my combination...a little biased I guess.

Re: Richardson SS/AS Camaro
Not the Wisecarver that ran hot rod but his brother gary. Gary ran some SS back then. Tracy remember on Sunday SS is a Shoe Polish race, Anthony just won Atlanta going 9.50 in SS/AS

Re: Richardson SS/AS Camaro
The biggest engine I ever ran in AS is 380". And it was a beater engine with 4 sleeves, a big crank and steel rods. And a powerglide. But I went 8.92 in TX with it in 05. However the extra weight turns out was hard on them pinion gears :P I went 9.08 with my 352" in AS last year at Milan too.
Anthony told me last year he was building a Cobalt for AS. Not sure where it is, if something changed, or he was just bs'in me... whatta you think? |
