Well the question was quite broad. Stock, SS or Comp. Could be over $100K.

And if my matter of fact response kinda pissed you off, you'll have REAL fun racing! :D

I never said I race these classes, nor do I plan to, but 100K is a bit extreme for a Stock Eliminator engine  I don't doubt it they are out there, though.

How much do you have in your engine?

I think 20-30k is probably more realistic for Stock Eliminator but I may be a bit naive. Less if you have access to the right tools, are a bit lucky, and you work your *** off.

I've been racing off and on for 20 years now. It can be fun but sometimes can be an all-day plane crash. I think I wouldn't mind putting you on the trailer, though :D

Looking for a good shop experienced in limited rules type engines. Stock, Super Stock, Comp Eliminator, etc..

I'm running a Small block Ford but they don't necessarily need to be specialized in Ford.

Thanks

I guess your original question then was somewhat misleading and vague at the same time.

Generally speaking, I would say you would double the cost each time you move up the ladder as you indicated in your question. The high dollar options in SS from a "B" engine to an "A" engine could get really expensive. That would include shaft rockers, 55mm or 60mm camshafts, the really high end rods & pistons, sheet-metal intake, Stainless headers.
You'll need an "A" engine if you want to dispose of me (once I get back on the track of course). Good luck! :D

I thought that was kind of funny he didn't say anything. thought maybe he just didn;t want to work on a Ford.
