Re: couple of questions on 8 3/4 mopar rears
had both mosers and now M/W..at the time moser was the only ones that would make em to my specs..thats the one and only reason i got them...You just cant compare these in quality or anything else for that matter...the threads in the axles were terrible and all craftsmanship was a no show..never going there again! and since when has Moser had an excellent reputation? Didnt break though...when i think about it the only axles i see come apart once in a while or twist the splines are Strange...but my guess is that they are really old one's...the old Summer bros. were good axles..

I broke a Strange axle in a 10 second, 2,850lb footbrake Challenger after about 8-10 years and thousands of runs. A friend who had the car before had a 440/4 speed, but only for a year or two. But I never had any issues with the 2-3 sets of Moser axles and spools I've bought. |

Tom,
Thanks for that link showing severly lightened flanges. I knew I'd seen that somewhere... just couldn't remember where. I think these axles are going to work well for me; just didn't think much of the way they were delivered, with the rough spots and the lack of that access hole in the flanges. Hopefully, my ol' junk won't hurt 'em. Bill |
