Dane, good information there. It can be exciting when taking a fuel sample from a fuel injected car after a run. I have a petcock at the tank to take a sample, but NHRA told me at Reading a few years ago it was no longer allowed.

For the FI guys take the sample from the return line you only need to hold on to the cup with one hand

I wasn't offended,I just didn't understand it.Terry,I usually wear shorts then slip pants over them. You
wouldn't want to see me without pants.Actually all I need is a good helmet and I use 3" wide laps.No roll bar in the car.Might think of putting one in though. Some A/AA cars come past me 40MHP faster than me.And I get pissed at myself for not closing it up at the stripe.Go figure.

ed ... NOW you will NEVER sell your car, no-one will take a chance on that drivers seat !

as far as fuel check... he is right, and an explosion is only a little poor luck away... not to mention the checker sitting beside a jug of mixed fuels... geez fume alone will kill ya...

so just sick OSHA on NHRA and shazaam there will be rules changes...someone with intelligence (not me of course) should be able to figure this one out

jack

Jack, having an AMC car is like having old luggage. You just can't get rid of it.If grounding the car is a solution they
(NHRA) can hire a monkey to clip a grounded wire to the cars at the lug nuts.Only one car at a time or more than one monkey. The fuel check guy is on his own.
Seriously a good friend had his car toasted at fuel check. Not a spark condition but none the less very dangerous and ulitmately expensive afterwards.
Someone mentioned not having the fuel pump on when drawing fuel.Is there another way to draw fuel without the pump on if your fuel valve is in the engine compartment?
