Re: Rock
More like outstanding rain on Fri-Sat... This is why the TOC sucks. End of the year, outta vacation and gotta take 5+ days off work. You shouldn't have to drive 14 hours to win the championship or shootout. Under the old system you could be the champ and not have to go to NC to watch it rain and race on Monday... or god forbid it gets postponed and you have to come back and just burn $1200 dollars in gas for absolutely nothing, like happened in 05

Re: Rock
Michael you are 100% correct. Under the old system you did'nt have to drive 14 hrs to Rockingham to win it.
Under the old system you would have to rack up20,000 miles and burn a lot of vacation time to win it. I'll bet if NHRA came up with this idea everybody would be all for it.LOL Chip |
Re: Rock
I'll bring an extra box of kleenex for you Chip.. I did just as many races this year as I would have under the old system. I even went to an addtional non points earning weekend at Osceola. 3 nats and 4 divisional weekends... thats all you have to do. Most people didn't have to travel far with the combo sportsman nationals weekends the past two years. I see your lips moving but all I'm hearin is blah blah

Re: Rock
It's 7:45 am now. got here about 5am and there is about 20 rigs in the front lot.
|
Re: Rock
Danny,
Do a survey of those rigs and see how many got stopped by the gestapo for overlength or overweight? Hope everyone has a good time. |
Re: Rock
So far onlystory i heard was in Kentucky with a deisel motorhome and was talked to about over-length. he was 70 foot.Did not say what happened

Re: Rock
A 14 hour drive would be great. We were there 3 years ago for the Summit Super Series and it was only a 60 hour drive one way and going through 3 blizzards to get there. We have a driver from our track in Edmonton,Alberta, Canada that i belive is heading there to compete in the TOC in two classes. I have no idea when he and his family started driving.
But I must say one thing about the Rock, It is a great facility and the people at the track were very good to us. I have been to a lot of tracks( mostly in the northwest) and the Rock is one of my favorites. Just my 2 cents from Western Canada. |
Re: Rock
