I was at Piedmont announcing Saturday, the current owners didn't know these cars were coming Sunday. It looks like a washout as its raining pretty hard.

Herb the thing was planned as a last minute deal. Hemi Fred Sox & Martin Duster was match racing Bill Jenkins Monza at Z-max on Friday night as part of the Good Guys Show in Concord. He wants some suggestions of other places to run during the week-end before heading south to Georgia. Piedmont, being a Sox & Martin home track, everyone on Moparts.com got into it and we planned to all meet at Piedmont on Sunday, make some runs, cook-out and have a good time. Really did hate the rain but several of us meet up there at the track anyway.

Hey Herb, did you or your dad know a guy named Mike Duckett back in the 70's Pro-Stock days? He used to be my neighbor in Raleigh and said he worked as a mechanic on one of the Sox & Martin cars back in the "old" days.

Yes Ducket did, he actually worked for my dad on the Brooklyn Heavy car as well. There is a funny story about his either wife or girlfriend I can remember because it was 72 or, but she shot at him one night, they lived in a trailer park. The trailer next door moved out 2 days later....not the tenants they knew she was crazy and moved the whole trailer to another park. OD Powell knows that story better than anyone.
