Re: Bad track at Pomona
Wonder if this had any thing to do with the bad track. At least in one of the lanes......

Re: Bad track at Pomona
Is there a difference between "VHT track bite" and "VHT PJ1"? We have seen what we belive is a difference since our local tracks started using the barrells that say PJ1 on them. If its re-formulated, is this NHRA's idea to slow cars down? Just wondering, not saying that there is a difference, just asking. Maybe its nothing more than how its mixed. Thanks.
A another note, sure looks like it a great time for the AHRA! When NHRA cant do things right or treat the racers right, its time for something new! |

Re: Bad track at Pomona
Pat,
Byron's complaint stems from Friday's elimination run. Apparently, Doug Holder hooked well enough in the right lane to wheelie and crush the pan to cause the delay you mentioned. But that was the right lane, and it happened today. Jerry |
Re: Bad track at Pomona
From what we have been told NHRA does not use VHT anymore due to the pro's. The pro's do not want
VHT it is for some reason now after 50 years not usefull for there setup's, I for one was really taken back by a actual bad traction issue at Vegas, We never in the past had traction issue's at Vegas it is one of the reason's we love going there, Well one less reason now, running out of reason's real fast!!! |
Re: Bad track at Pomona
It was even that way at Bakersfield at the Hot Rod Reunion. Usually the track is good in the morning and this year the exhibition cars and AFX cars that ran first all had huge problems. Almost every pass was an aborted run. Eventually it "came in" or maybe the faster dragsters were happier with that but three or four classes were skating around and a couple met the wall spectacularly.

Re: Bad track at Pomona
Same deal at Rockingham. The Rod classes were skating but T/S & T/D were O.K. Go figure.
I think what has happened is IHRA and NHRA got a deal on some traction compound and it's not working. Chip |
Re: Bad track at Pomona
Can't say if it was another problem or the lane, but............
