Re: Blog of the building of a Challenger Drag Pak
Ok, mine is @ B & B race cars in Tenn. I am working on two 5.9 for stock and ss. We will also work on the dyno on the 6.1 and 5.7. I already got lots of stuff for the driveline. We will use a 8 3/4 742 case with the special Jim Bailey treatment. We are going to paint it B5 (1970) and it will look like the 2010 Classic Pkg on the Challenger. No Decals.
Plan on running in H/SA unless with the large driver it goes into I/SA. We already got the Fast system working on our GT/FA but we don't think we are even close to the bottom. It is # 16. B & B will do the cage, rear axle, rear brakes and some other stuff. My body shop will paint the car. That's my blog. I'm too old to blog. I am not too old, however, to drink beer.
I just returned form Livonia from getting mine.... I'm STILL trying to get over the 18 hour return trip... Left there Tuesday morning at 7:30 am and pulled into central Florida at 3:30 am on Wednesday... I like Jeff am too old to do this or blog... But, I'm very excited to start on #43 next week..... Takash Race Craft in Orlando is doing all my chassis work. Still discussing paint. Have the FAST system, Aeromotive fuel system, Billet Wheels and Hoosier tires..... Plan on A/SA........ More as we go!!!!! |
Re: Blog of the building of a Challenger Drag Pak
I have Welds, however if I can run fast enough, I think some Torque II can be had @ 4.5 in. wide for the front and 10 in the rear. We sold several B5 2009/10 Challengers with the classic pkg. I really like them, and my Duster is 70 B5 Blue. I figure B5, black hood, black rocker panel, R/T stripes and I'm not sure on the spoiler. The Classic has it body color, but I think the original T/A had a black spoiler. Easy enough to check. My son has two original unrestored Challenger T/A's and lives next door. We are building a really trick 5.9 for SS. We think we can make at least an additional 50 hp from last year, and maybe more. Should be fun. We might even outrun a bow tie (tape your mouth shut). More later. Going to Grand Isle, LA for Thanksgiving with 4 kids, 9 grandkids, 4 dogs, and my wife.
