Re: Jeggie

The question wasn't whether he was driven to win stock and run local bracket races. The 1st post stated will Jeg just be a driver and have nothing else to do with the car???

Doesn't matter to me, but I wish I could just be a driver and go shoot the crap between rounds. Not having to work on your stuff relieves a lot of stress and keeps you focused on actually driving the car. Not having to worrying about whether you can keep the car running on the starting line without stalling or creeping through the beams is nice.

He is driving one of the new Dodge Challengers; there is an article and picture on the NHRA website.

Re: Jeggie

When Jeggie drove our Cuda in the Hemi Challenges he was very hands on with the car, not so much with mechanical stuff because we were doing all that and didn't need another pair of hands in the mix, but he was very on top of the weather conditions, tracking his runs, the computer print outs, tires, gear ratios, etc.. He and Dad had a lot of conversations about the mechanical things on the car. I was pleasantly surprised by how "into it" he was. Darrell Marvel always puts a bbq on for the hemi guys and Jeggie went. One of his comments was how nice everyone was, how it was so unlike the pro stock arena. I think you'll find him to be a very involved Stock racer.

Dad has retired, cars are gone from our shop. I have no idea what Ogburn & crew have in mind for this year. Me? I'm getting my trusty little Volare ready to go after a two-year hiatus. I'm sure I'll look like a rookie after that long break but I'll have fun!!

Hmmm, w/some big names getting into a few of the "new" late model stockers, NHRA might start giving out some "prime time" scheduling of the classes they're going to be running...you just never know what strings are going to be pulled next in this game.... WJ
