As for Spectators in the Stands. The N.C. People around this part likes the Pro Mods & Pro Stocks and with IHRA not running them I am sure that kept alot of people away.Plus it still cost the Spectators $35 to get in on Sat.
Only had
4 T/F Dragster
7 Pro Fuel Dragster
8 Prostalgia Funny Car
2 Jet Trucks
1 Wheelstander

Last Year same Price for the Spectators but around 40 or more P/S & P/M

I ran into Rockingham Saturday afternoon for a few essentials and a young man behind me in line at the Food Lion saw my "crew" wristband and asked my assessment of the crowds. He was well aware that there was an event going on at the track, and used to go every year - but he would be "damned" to spend the same money and see less fast cars. He specifically said that he liked watching us sportsman racers, but he wouldn't spend "no 35 dollars and not see any pro mod cars." I said ADRL will be in town soon, and he said, "I know, I will be there then."

Aaron Polburn kept saying it was a successful program with the new changes - I beg to differ. I was not impressed with the crowds Saturday night, and it was a perfect night to be at the track.

And Roy Hill's Mustang was bad ***!

Its a Fordomatic 2 speed from the early 60's I believe, they just upgraded it and beefed it up alittle. Killer little transmission, but it does look similiar to the PG. Hey it came from the Manufacturer so it must be OK?? Just like the r&p steering setup off a Pinto on the LT1's and LS1's right Greg?

It's only fair, GM did not have a manual rack and pinion so they asked and it was okayed to use one from a Pinto. Ford's 2-speed was an antique so they probably decided to slip in a GM Powerglide. I just wonder when the sanctioning bodies found out the C2 was really a Powerglide?

The two speed trans in the CJs are a after market GM power glide built by Joels on Joy racing transmissions in detroit very nice piece.

I thought the trans had to have the same number of forward gears excluding overdrive as it comes on the factory car. I havent seen any new mustangs that don't have a standard 3 forward plus overdrive. Am I missing something in the rules?

I'm pretty sure in Superstock you're allowed to run any speed auto, as long as it's of the same corporate brand.

Re: Video of SS/BA CJ Mustang (Roy Hill)

No MORE than the OEM number of gears. That's why a car like a 2002 Camaro which came with a 6-speed manual trans can race stock or super stock with a 5-speed (or 3 or 4-speed) manual transmission.
