Yep. they are GE replacements.. Can't tell them apart from glass. available at your friendly parts store if you know what to look for. Work just like glass and are legal replacements. Some are even avaliable as halogen hi beams. I put the plastic hi beams in my Toter so I could see better on Hi...
What? You don't believe in being safe? I ran 3 dragstrips for quite a few years and you wouldn't believe the number of broken head lamps I've seen at the tracks. In the pits and pieces on the return road and an ocassional piece of glass or two on the track. Doesn't seeing a headlight falling out and bouncing on the track bother you. What if it ended up in your lane and under one or your slicks. Bet it would get your attention then... OH! the weight difference might be 4 of 5 ounces apiece :~)

There are several late model cars that came from the factory with plastic headlights. My wife's 1996 Formula Firebird and my 1995 Corvette came new with them.

Just found one of the low beam boxes. The number is GE HP4656
I think all the Hi beam boxes are in the landfill. I would assume you could use 4 low beams since you don't race with headlights in the "ON" position....

Adger, ive had them in my car since 1998. There nothing new. Not sure if they do them for the older cars or not tho..

Maybe, but he said in the pits right after it bent the headers a little, and Frank Maiolo was helping them check the front suspension which seemed suspect. And the first round of eliminations, he red lit and the car appeared to move to the right. Just my observation.

Duane,
I didn't say they were a new...Thing... I have had customers using them for a long time. I just had a box with the GE number stored in my toter with a reg glass lite in it. I had to dig it out. I have always thought of them as a safety addition to any car.

I'm sure it knocked the front end out of alignment. I know we did when Kevin had to pedal the car during a real high one.
