Why would you need a special class in a Pounds per HP eliminator.

you don't, you just need someone in Glendora with a basic understanding of what these cars are capable of

And you could put an "S" in front of the car number for senior citizen to show the young guys who dont get it that an old F&$K was driving as most of us are these days......LOL.

Chad that hasn't worked well since the founding of NHRA why do you think it will work now?
What you need is more attension to the AFHS
Eliminate the 1000' clocks.
Altitude correct all runs.
Teardown all cars that go fast enough to get an instant hit, even if it means staying late on Sunday

very true Art.
The AHFS needs a revamp
they need to USE the 1000' data
otherwise I agree

I meant get rid of the 1000' clocks. This way the racers would have to run it out the back door more. You can not factor cars using the 1000' data My car would be a prefect example why not. Tim Kish runs the same class and we run close in ET's but our 1000' numbers are over a tenth different.
And maybe move the instant hit to 1.15 as long as it was altitude corrected and the car was proven legal.

not saying they need to factor off of 1000' data, but if racer x runs a 9.95 @600' altitude with a 7.95 1000' in A/SA, but later runs a 10.50 @800'DA but with a 7.88 1000' then you KNOW that they are sandbagging.

and you'll never get rid of the 1000' clocks as long as NHRA uses them for the fuel cars

But if you turn off the clocks the racer can't gain any info from that run

sure he can, he'll just have to resort to other means (data logger).

That wouldn't be as effective as the 1000' clocks
