Very good point. If IHRA establishes these classes now I am sure it would probably please the majority (people without Dps or CJs). This class can be listed as for '08 and newer model Fuel injected cars. The one thing about IHRA is that they actually listen to racers opinions and ideas. I would not be surprised to see IHRA adopt something like this. If IHRA truly wants to seperate the new cars they will do something like this. IHRA is looking better all the time.

Also, you have to agree with Jack's point. However, if you consistently make round and run enough races you will begin to meet up with the new cars, not to mention as more of these cars continue to pop up. Probably the main reason old cars vs Dps didn't happen that often is because there simply weren't a large number of these new cars together at multiple races.

IHRA has to first APPROVE a crate engine to get on the accepted list. None of the so called "NEW" engines are on that list. The engines would be legal for SS/GT and possably Stock/GT.

ONLY IF they drop the year rule like NHRA did in S/S. I dont think IHRA has done that YET. Maybe Danny Waters Sr. can chime in here. I havent seen the 2011 rules yet. Thats why I said POSSABLY?

Stock /GT 80 and newer body with 79 and older engine combo. Has not changed yet in stock.

It probably would NOT be a good idea for IHRA to change/drop the year restrictions. It would just cause the same problem with the new engines in Stock/GT as exists now in NHRA Stock.
