I actually love the idea. Heads up,no cheating, and get to blow up other peoples s#!t. Sign me up. Id like to see a .400 pro tree also. I believe you said no trans brake, so with this tree you couldnt really guess and get luckey too often and there would be nearly no red lights.

Well, the only way you'd have no cheating is if you gave people complete cars. By installing an engine in somebody else's car, I can guarantee you that people would still find ways to cheat with their particular setup (e.g. hidden electronics).
I do love the idea of a level playing field where the best driver wins, ala the IROC series. That's the only real way that I could see something like this would fly. But, now the cost just went up because now you'd need to supply complete cars. NHRA used to have something like this when they had Oldsmobile (I think) provide them with 8 completely stock vehicles and then have people race against each other. But, was about as exciting as watching grass grow because nobody wants to watch people race cars that run 18 second quarter mile times. I don't know if Hawley or Hill has enough identical cars, but pitting 8 guys against each other in a competition like this would be entertaining to watch. It would be particularly entertaining to have it be an all-star race with some of the best drivers in the country. So, for episode 1, I'm thinking Peter & Sal Biondo, Dan Fletcher, Scotty & Edmond Richardson, Greg Stanfield, Mike Edwards, and of course, me. :D Of course, what I've just defined is in essence Super Comp, as isn't everybody in S/C just driving identical Undercover dragsters with a Huntsville Racing engine and Powerglide transmission? |

And we a know how many watch super comp, that would make one heck of a TV show.
Seriously? |
Re: With PINKS ALL OUT gone...how about this!
Why not bring back a Homerun Derby style event where you match racers head to head in a best 3 out of 5. Then the winner moves on next week to face another challenger.

Re: With PINKS ALL OUT gone...how about this!
I realize this does not appeal to the hard core Stock and Super/Stock folks. The point is to fill the void of "Pinks All Out" with another drag racing show. We must not let the time slot of some drag racing be given to monster trucks, or motorcycles, or boats. I think it must be a show that would be entertaining to more than Stock and/or Super/Stock racers. (like the average bracket, weekend warrior, pinks competitor) It has to be based on the team concept (a bunch of buddies) which gets more people involved (all of their family and friends, brand fans Ford GM Mopar, auto performance companies) . There has to be a time elemet (getting the car ready, RT, ET) and of course drama (the competition). With a some what level playing field (equal engines) and an element of team ability (all the buddies building the car) and indivdual ability (the driver). It was just an off the top idea, not a final draft. I was hoping to engage some of the fine people on here, toward a possible type of show that would continue where Pinks left off. Some times we try....fall...get back up and try again....BUT WE DO TRY AGAIN!
