Re: Anybody Noticed ?????
Its called the high cost of low living.Wages have decreased and everything else has went up in cost.As Myron stated its prioritys,Some people wanna drink, some like hookers, some like blow but the hard core racers get to the track with no complaints. surrounded by friends at disney world. They live a positive life and turn negatives into positives. At the track, they could care less about the high profilers they bought what they have.,they dont care if you are fuel injected or u got a shot of nitrous. The racers that dont complain earned what they have they didnt show up with a load of dough ..Right now a smart man can captilize on all the negatives and have a stock pile of cars.BTW Danny I think i may have something for you If i go to Palm Beach :)

Re: Anybody Noticed ?????
Danny,
I took a look at the GT cars that were for sale on this forum. If my memory isn't failing, too much, several of those cars have been on the market for more than a year. At least one nearly 2 years. This isn't just a sudden sell off. I think they just all hit the "want ads" about the same time. Some being re listed. I know one of the sellers is just "finished" and one of the other(I'll go out on a limb here) has changed jobs and has a young family that is probably more important than racing. I got to know him when he was living here and frequented the shop. I found him to be a very nice young man. I'm sure Scott's car is a fine ride and well worth the money. I think the economy situation has an influence on most all of us and our racing programs. I'm also pretty sure some of us are a little put off by the newest enhancements that seem to make S & SS more of a Non-Performance category. Each seller has a reason for making his sale and I would bet there isn't some dark, sinister reason behind all the GT sales. |
Re: Anybody Noticed ?????
The older I get......the more I notice everyone else is getting older too.....I keep wondering where the young guys are.

Re: Anybody Noticed ?????
May be you are right Adger... It may be i just notice it more since my son has one of them now. He was very fotunate in the 90's classes and in bracket racing. Could be i am just a little worried on his new venture. He has won Iron men in all the IHRA 90's classes and one pro-am in T/D and stock.....Just got the jitters a little ,but he is very cofident in himself and i will be too. We have talked about it and he says his superstocker is not going to be for sale for a long time. Dad always worry more than son does.....lol
