Something to go over results of racing across the country and do some tech stuff on the cars and classes. It would introduced and explain class racing to new people and put the spot light on people who deserve it and sponsors some tv time.

Have you guys lost the ability to comprehend written words? The point was that it's another year and the boobs in Glendora have bypassed sportsman racers again the oppertunity to get a little TV recognition.Like maybe showing all the sportsman finals and maybe a short interview in a one hour show.
This is why nothing will ever change.

Glendora may have some input but the ESPN producers make the decisions on what gets broadcast. The ESPN people are new to drag racing and are fascinated with the nitro classes, for good reason. Until they evolve there will be no change. They really don't care much for prostock classes either.

It's just so frustrating. I bring friends and family to the track to watch S/SS and they all love it, even the ones who have never seen it before. I just wish we could get a little intelligent coverage. It drives me crazy to watch "Pinks" dumbing down our beloved sport to the point of silliness. Americans can understand NFL and MLB, arguably the most complex and confusing sports ever invented! Give us a shot at enjoying real sportsman drag racing! I'm not holding my breath...

Ed there is no reason that you should say anything about Sportsman coverage. Go back under your rock. We're talking NHRA Sportsman, the TAFC & TAD/AF. The real sportsman. Not some stockers that can only run in the 10's or super stockers with giant wheelstands. It is extremely difficult to compete in these classes. Just look at the Gainesville divisional. It took two rounds of eliminations to win TAFC. Your talking about a stout 4 car field. How about 3 rounds for the Alky/fuel dragster class. The sportsman televised show will be packed with action from the large fields.

You complainers always talk about bogus combos, low purses, throttle stops/delays, single passes, lack of track prep, and such. Now is the time to stand up and be recognized. Quit your trash talking and build yourself an alky car. Get off the keyboard and start working on your new alky piece. Just think, if you can get it to just get down the track without puking all over itself, you've got a win. Does'nt matter if the time slip says 12.34 @ 92 mph. Then it's off to round two where all you need is to stage the car since your opponent lost fire. Then your in the finals. Wow, what an accomplishment.

Of course there is a drawback. You might get paired with someone like Manzo who can make it down the track with consistency. Other than that there are only so many that can do that. So quit your bitchin and build yourself one and be a famous elite Sportsman racer, and get on ESPN.

And some were on here bashing TS and TD, just wanna bee alky cars.

Thats it for me, I'm going to go hide under some gravel, I like little rocks better.

As a added bonus last year you could of showed up to one race claimed div V and had a top ten finish in division points with out ever winning a round. You would also get paid as a first round looser while you are at it. From the price I have seen on some of these cars it is cheaper than building a good stocker.
