Re: suspension tuning... help me please
I would loosen up the front end also, it looks too stiff with minimal travel. How old are your rear tires? What shape was the track in?

Re: suspension tuning... help me please
Everything said so far could be a problem; but I would start with loosening up the front end to give the rear suspension a CHANCE to work.
Actually, I thought it looked like there was too much pressure in the rear tires on the first pass, but that is not the complete answer. |
Re: suspension tuning... help me please
On our Nova and the Camaro before that I ground off all the serrations on the A arm bushings which really loosens up the front suspension, plus using SS front springs and 90/10 shocks. Let us know what you did and how it worked out, but remember to one thing at a time.

Re: suspension tuning... help me please
my caltrac 90/10 shocks showed up last night. when i pulled the lakewoods off they were a mess. you couldnt hardly extend them, the oil had leaked out of one and if you tried to cycle it up and down it would get so stiff on the extend you couldnt hardly pull it.. ive never noticed these being wet with oil but one of them you can see where it leaked at a seam. these were 2 years old but wiped out.... im getting ready to go race today so we will see if the shocks was the main problem. i will post another video today or tomorrow. i just want to thank all of you for your help...

Re: suspension tuning... help me please
i will post a video of saturday tuning on the car, the track temp was over 140 i put preload in and took pre load out all day long the 60' times improved with less. i pulled the rubber bushings out sat night for sundays race, i put a solid piece of pipe in and it hooked great. i ran 6.88's all day sunday with 1.48 60' saturday i was 7.00 with 1.55 60'. the track temp was cooler sunday and this was the best 60' times ive pulled in the car.
