And that's not even the big 5.4 the CJ has, it's the smaller 4.6 with a factory block, crank and heads.
Tom, John & George Klass have been tweaking that 4.6 Mod Combo for several years now. You wouldn't know it based off the ET's they lay down, but they use the Ford OEM Factory Cobra block which has been reinforced, stock lifters and valvetrain pieces, and factory ported heads

What broke it? And when? Because it was sitting on the starting line, he spun the tires real hard, and stayed on it until it let go. There was never even any sort of remotely violent move.

From what I know about engines, you have to run them hard to break them. Give em 10 years or so when the AFHS catches up and see how well they stay together.

Alan, He assumed the couple of wheelstands and bouncing around. You could see through the hole in the pan it was off. Dont know if they have a light that says "HEY DUMMY" or not in there. I dont think it would have helped save the bottom end from burning up though. Kinda needed some oil flow. I was more curious to see what put the hole in the pan.

The question is, did it fall off first, or did it get knocked off when the engine broke? The only way to know if it fell off first was if he knew it did not have oil pressure.

Alan, I thought you said he stood it up twice, before finally blowing it up? Maybe he smacked the pan, leading to the pick up being broken off?

Sean, he stood it up twice, one time in each of his first two time trials. Then the third time trial he spun. The next pass was the first round, his opponent went red, then he spun, and drove it through wide open until it let go around 900 feet or so. If it fell off during or after one of the times he stood it up, he would have had low or no oil pressure for the third time trial and the first round of eliminations.

I think the only work, Geo does is answer the phone. Any building or tweaking is done by,John.
