A diesel tractor during a Gamblers' race at Englishtown. Even in my street car I spotted him something like 7 seconds.

I didn't race against him but when I was last at Sonoma I saw the "Karmann Ghetto", an old VW racing in Super stock--SS/VX. He was running tens. I think he set a record. My team has a '70 Chrysler T&C that races in Super Street. I actually looked it up as a stocker combo but fugetabowdit!

Hey Lane, I'm still waiting for that day to happen once for me (being able to chase someone in Stock)! Who knows, if by Monday afternoon the remaining 6 (of 8) cars set for the Stock Automatic Combo runoff get like class entries (or if the ladder works out to pair us together), then I'll have a chance to race Bill so I can find out what it feels like to be on the other side of a tortoise and hare race...that'll be an oddity for sure!!! :)

Not a S/SS car, but I raced against a El Camino at Maple Grove that had a GMC 4V71 diesel in it!
had a hard time chaseing him thru the smoke.

I didn't race against it,,,,,,but I saw it with my own eyes,,,,,,in 1971.
A 1959 Fiat 600 versus a 1963 Willy's Jeep Station wagon.

Quite possibly, the slowest combined E.T's in drag racing history.
I think the track (Dover Drag Strip) made up the Z/Stock class for them.

Back in the late 80's, there was a guy that raced an 86 Cadillac Cimmaron with a 4 speed in it. It was dark green, beige leather, sunroof, all the buttons.. That thing ran almost in the 13's and set several records and was no.1 qualifier more than once.
Oh wait... memory 's starting to go..That was me...

Again, it was not a Stock or Super Stock car, but back in the day, at Music City, AKA "the Hill", there was a red Datsun pick up truck with a big block Chevy and a 'Glide. In the bed. J. R. Sosh owned it, and called it "Ratsun".
