Buy a 5 gallon aluminum one from Jegs.

Re: Plastic or Aluminum fuel cell?
I just went thru this. The aluminum 5 gallon cell from RCI and Jaz (and also Jeg's too I believe) come with two 8AN outlet fittings welded in, also a welded in roll-over valve fuel vent on the right side if you are facing the tank. That is the way they come and they won't modify it for you. I like the fuel vent on the left side and pump overflow on the right, since my fuel pump is mounted on the passenger side of the trunk. I ran across BD Racing and they will build you a cell with a single 10AN fitting, and no roll over valve so you can put the vent on the side you want. Hope this helps. Made my life easier.

Yes, Because it's a wagon you can put the cell below the floor.

Re: Plastic or Aluminum fuel cell?
I run a 10 gal. aluminum, and i take out the foam.If you run into a problem with your fuel not checking,it is easier to get it cleaned out.Does anyone else think it is a good idea to put in a fuel shut off in the line? With the fuel cell now mounted high in the rear of the car,it is easy for it to drain out if a line is cracked open.A fuel shut off makes it easier, and safer to service a pump or regulator,or to just drain the system.I like the 10 gal. because it is easier to add a little weight if you need to.The tanks with the tabs welded on them are simpler to mount also.

figure out how much fuel you need for one run and double or triple it. that is all you need. why would you want to carry more fuel than two runs could possibly take. i don't think theres a stocker out there that runs on 2.5 gallons per run? if your fuel doesn't pass then you have to drain 5- 10 gallons, that not cool. removing the foam only works if you keep it topped up. i run a 1 gallon cell. my 350 uses 1/3 third of it per run if i have to idle behing a jr. on the return road. i have made three passes back to back to back without waiting inline or being slowed down on the return road - no fill ups. Aluminum looks nicer, plastic is lighter. Ian |

Re: Plastic or Aluminum fuel cell?
Here is a pic of my new setup. It's a Jeg's 5 gallon with 2 #10 outlet bungs, a #8 vent and a #8 return. I had my local race shop make a CM mount and tig on some attachment bungs.
