Re: Don't you just love NHRA
this is the unfortunate result of nhra's success going mainstream ( and hollywood). we may remember a time when we wish our beloved sport would get the recognition it so deserved , but should have been careful for what we wished for. nhra has just forgotten that the biggest supporters of the sport aren't the corporate sponsers, but the grass roots racers patronizing the local tracks nationwide, who race for the love of it, not the money.

Re: Don't you just love NHRA
<<Among the forms of exposure specifically prohibited are attachment of excessive signs or banners to the race vehicle and support equipment>>
What constitues "Excessive"? more than 2? 3? 4? 6? I always attach K&N and Racinglue.com banners to my trailer (they're my sponsor), along with Lucas Oil in respect for their support of the sportsman ranks, are 2-3 banners excessive? Since K&N is a major sponsor is that an exception like Richards? |
Re: Don't you just love NHRA
does this mean there is going to be no more banners zipped tied to the fances anymore then ???

Re: Don't you just love NHRA
Bob ,When you mentioned Excessive ......It makes me think NHRA is,nt familiar with the term at least as far as far as Pay-out !!!!! Every time i ever approached a potential sponsor they pretty much dictated what they exspected as far as banners and displays....... Plain and simple they want thier cut or you cant have it . Just another way to put the scews to us again .:confused::confused::confused::confused :

Re: Don't you just love NHRA
This rule has been in the rule book since 2003. The wording has changed over the years but it is the same basic idea. Not sure why they decided to put out a reminder about it now; but, this isn't new.

Re: Don't you just love NHRA
I can only speak as a spectator since i dont race. This is a stupid rule, if someone is sponsored by a lawn care company or a local plumber why not let them have a banner up on their trailer. I want to see who sponsors my local racers, since i would like to support those that support my favorite sport. I wish Mr. Richards would open a store in central pa so at least i know the money at spend on his product goes to a good cause. Its just like the teeshirt issue, i would like to buy a teeshirt from some of my favorite stock/super stock racers. I work for UPS and we have plenty of guys that attend short track and dirt track races and buy up the local guys shirts with the sponsors all over the back. Dont they think that if people are walking around with a Dan Fletcher shirt on that will be good for business? If not why sell shirts at all? Sometimes i think Harrisburg's mayor is running NHRA.
