I sure hope this new linerless aluminum cylinder technology works better for Ford than the Vega did for Chevrolet!

Rory,

It is used in gas turbines and Caterpillar remanufacturers its diesel cylinders with it. I think its just little better the Vega technology. They also saved 8 pounds with the removal of the liners. This stuff is only .006 thick.

this technology has been used by the high end European manufacturers since the 1970's without the problems Chevy had. I have always believed that the unsupported cylinders were the problem with the Vega. Using the head gasket and head to locate and stabilize the top of the cylinders is risky business in my opinion.

The 2013 5.8L GT500 oil pan is a nice looking part. The gasket, windage tray and crank scraper is a one piece part. These were released by Ford Racing this week and I have already sold two of them. Below is the address for the oil pan kit.
