While the Super Stock turnout was extremely low, I'm not sure where people are getting "three cars" from. DRC shows 6 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday, Stock was 29 and 26.

At least 6 cars on Saturday and 8 on Sunday is better than the ADRL last weekend at Z-Max. They only had 4 cars show up for their well publicized SuperCar Showdown.

That was Friday. They had an odd schedule there, with a qualifying run Friday night, and then the 2nd qualifying run Saturday night. More cars showed up on Saturday.

I hope IHRA does o.k.
That organization is the last hope for a new guy (like myself) that wants to get into class racing.

I like the idea of 2 races on one weekend and no pre-registration is required.
Just not a big fan of the $ 135.00 buy in per race with only a $ 1,000 to win payout. (Stock)

:I want IHRA to perpetuate as much as anyone butright now the way it is being run I feel as though IHRA is a lot like the ill fated cruise ship Costa Concordia and it's leader Aaron Polburn is captain Francesco Schettino

Pretty much spot on Alex. Went to my first and last Nitro Jam @ Martin, glaring example of how NOT to run a race. Not sure who's making all the calls over there but they sure made some poor decisions. And of course the lowly sportsman racers suffered because of it.They seem to be in desperate need of a major personnel shakeup. As you know I raced IHRA for years and enjoyed it ... this is not the IHRA I remember.Joe

I love racing IHRA, especially at MIR. But since they decided to have the TOC in Memphis, the only IHRA race I have gone to is the Sportsman Spectacular at MIR. And even had I won, I would not drive 18 hours to Memphis to run that race! And I am skipping the points races this weekend!

If you are not a fan of that buy in and payout you better get out of or stay out of class racing. The other HRA is no better. The only place the pay to win ratio is better is the local combo races that are poping up.

Used to be, with the old points system, you had to go to 6 national events, on top of 8 divisionals. Even with that one long haul, total drive time chasing a championship is lower now. Even the last few years, just going to Martin, MI from NC was a 14 hr drive for me. ('Course I've also driven 16 hrs for a combo race where hardly anybody bothered to support it, too...) Where are you going to have a TOC race where nobody is going to have to drive more than 6 hours to get there? Free entry, $10K to win, and there's a Sportsman Spectacular there the same weekend.

I do miss the contingency sponsors we used to have, but I see NHRA is in the same boat as well. I made less at the NHRA LODRS at Atlanta than I used to make at an IHRA Pro-Am back in the day. Things are tight for everyone. What will it take to get us back on a growth cycle?
