Hi Norm. I'd say four hours or so, give or take. The track is roughly an hour from Breezewood PA (from B-wood, 23 miles to MD line, 32 miles to track exit for US 40 east). It's 3 1/2-4 hours for me, living near New Castle PA, so probably 4, maybe a little more from Quaker City.

A few. Check the opening post I made, lists some hotels nearby (5-7 miles way or so on Dual Highway, aka US 40 (same road that runs in front of the track).

Just a few other notes about the race, especially for thos who are first-timers to this, or any of my, races

~bye runs DO NOT have to be made. No taking the Tree or anything. You may remain in the lanes (if in round-robin late rounds) or return to the pits.

~tech is on the right-side of the track, looking down the track. You'll see the Tech Building in the second row, running parallel to the staging lanes.

~racers who lose early in the S/SS races may continue to make test and tune runs, if the track is still doing them.

~payouts each day will be at the timeslip booth. Coming back up the return road, back near the starting line. My mom will be there each day.

Anything else you need to know, let me know. Only sixteen days away!

This will be the third year of the Sunday $2,000 race. 2010, we had 55 total cars for the weekend; 44 made Sunday first round...it was a little cold that year. Last year was warmer, we had 72 total for the weekend, from eight states; 63 made first round. Hopefully the weather is as good, or better than last year (last year was partly/mostly sunny both days, high around 55 Saurday and 60 Sunday).

I've been going to this race since 1995 (2012 will be the eighteenth straight year). We've had thirty cars, or more, every year except two.
