Chuck was a good friend to me. Always fair and straight forward. He is one the last of the original gang and they were the best. I will truly miss him.

I first met Chuck in 1968. He has always been a friend. I am super sad. What a loss. God speed, my friend.

NHRA did a great article on him.

The man should be put in the drag racing hall of fame.

Re: Chuck Nelson Passes Away

I am sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. He was a real gentleman and a friend. Working with Chuck at several National events over the years let me see why he was so well liked within NHRA and especially in Division 4. He was a wealth of knowledge concerning not only NHRA's history of the tech department but also the early days of Mopar racing. I can remember the gleam in his eyes as he told his Mopar max wedge and hemi stories. Yes, Chuck was always a pleasure to work with. He will be truely missed by many.

Rest in peace my friend.

Travis
