Have you had a good look at it Rory?........

Phil, as you know , I am a Ford guy, but yes, I have looked Toms pink 318 2 barrel Callenger a few times at Mission. He ran it at the LODRS meet, and also ran it in our stickshift group a couple of times. Was I missing something? He was running 13.0s and 12.9s with it.

What type of fuel system would you run with the 2 barrel, fuel line
size, tank (or fuel cell) pick-up size, pressure, etc.?

I highly doubt that you can to run high 12s with a "legal" 318 2barrel. The 185 horsepower rating is about 10 hp to high. That's at legal P weight for a 1973 dart swinger at 3130 pounds

It can be done, but it is not easy. I got a legal 273 2 barrel 4 speed valiant in the 12's in Q/S that went through several NHRA teardowns and was looked at at Indy in 2005.

A good fuel system helps a lot with a carburetor with small volume like a mopar 2 barrel.

Paul when you say good fuel system are you talking volume or pressure? And do you run the carter 2bbl

Sal, its volume. Our little carburetors dont have much of a bowl and at 6000 plus they need everything they can get without the carb starving for fuel. Adding pressure fools with things as far as I can tell.

That's very interesting....makes sense to me. My car runs 95 mph in 90 degrees or 35 degrees. I've tried diff fuel pressures from 6-12, no change. Stock needle and seat, stock jet size. When I go up in jet size the car drops right off ET and Mph

Re: what class can i run

when i tried to change my jet size up it made the car run slower e.t. and mph was down. it is a carter also and the fuel pressure can make a big difference with mine.
