Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Thanks Pete!
I just hope the racers come and support this event. I know it's on top of the Charlotte National Event but, not many options were left in the bucket after all the Divisional, Open and Association Schedules were finalized. I'm very grateful to have a great group of sponsors who have come on board and believed in this event and have helped me out in every way. Trust me the tip of the Iceburg has just been broken and I have a lot more announcements hopefully to come in the next few months. Rob |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
As we all know last year we combined the .90 Nationals & Combo in the Hills events together for 1 big event held up at Numidia. For those on the Stock / Super Stock Side who personally didn't know him the .90 Nationals were re-named in April to the Ronnie "Uncle Buck" Memorial .90 Nationals in honor of George Donhausers long time crew chief Ronnie Harple who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer in April. Ronnie was a friend to all rather you ran a Stocker, .90 car, Pro Stock or a Jet Car. Uncle Buck always opened his arms up and invited you in for a beer or a plate of food. So in honor of "Uncle Buck", Ronnie's Brother "Moose" and the Harple Family will be giving the winner of Stock & Super Stock a brand new Webber Grill to carry on the joy of BBQing at the track just like "Uncle Buck" Used to do.

Still working on that Pete. Should have an announcement in the next few weeks. Right now working hard on getting the sponsors and things together for this race and right now we have a good amount of them lined up for this race but, want to put the final touches on it before I announce it.

Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
With this years event I decided to do away with the pre-entry raffle for prizes rather I took a page out of Pete Biondo's book for the Spring Flings and decided to do a "Racers Appreciation Performance Award". Pretty basic as I'm still working on Round # 6 right now but, should have that hopefully locked up by week's end. I'd like to Thank ATI, Autometer, Nitroplate, Crane Cams and Weisco for coming on board to be sponsors for this. I hope you the racers enjoy and it puts a little more meaning into each round. If no one hits these prizes all the winners / losers will be thrown into a hat and picked:
2013 “Racers Appreciation” Awards: Round # 1: ATI Gift Certificates to the 1st driver in each class with the best loosing package Round # 2: $100.00 Auto Meter Gift Certificate to first driver in each class who goes .000 on the tree (If no one goes .000 on the tree in the 2nd round all 2nd round winners will be thrown into a hat and a winner will be drawn. Round # 3: $100.00 Nitroplate Gift Certificate to the driver with the best winning package in Round # 3 (1 per class) Round #4: Crane Cams Gift Certificate to the driver in each class that goes “Dead-On” with a 0 in eliminations (If no one goes "dead-on" in the 4th round all 4th round winners will be thrown into a hat and a winner will be drawn). Round # 5: $500 Weisco Gift Certificate to the driver with the best loosing package in that round. 1 each for Stock & Super Stock More to come........ |
Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Just an FYI, anyone who would like to become a sponsor or put an added bonus up for the racers at this event please e-mail me at Rekeister@aol.com. Right now it is a guaranteed $3,000 to win ion both classes but, with more and more support the purse may go up.
As I've told a few of you already I may race in the Super Gas category but, I've grown up around drag racing since I was 6 months old and I enjoy everything about racing. I enjoy watching Stock & Super Stock and can usually be found in the staging lanes watching friends that run in these classes all the way till the final round. I enjoy doing these type of events and I went back to college to get my marketing degree to better myself in doing these type of events. I hope to see a lot of support and I'll be at select D-1 & ECSSA events this year, so stop by and say Hi...you can't miss the 128mph Super Gas 64 Nova Wagon! Re: Nitroplater Stk/SS Shootout at Numidia - Sept 13th & 14t
Here are the rules for this event. I took some of the idea's that Brian & Lee used in the Combo in the Hills event and with some help from Dave Ley I'm able to present these rules.
¼ mile event The correct class designation and minimum weight is to be on the car before the first time trial. There will be no co-drivers / no double entries. IHRA cars are welcome, if the car can crossover to NHRA (i.e. NHRA H/SA vs. IHRA H/SA) the IHRA car must meet NHRA rules and indexes. Random pairings for 1st round only 2nd round and on will go off of a ladder determined by reation time in the 1st round. If there is an un-even amount of cars for 1st round the best reaction time in the 2nd Qualifying Shot will get the bye-run . On the Bye-run you are required to take the tree, but can break the beam and back out. HEADS UP RUNS No Heads-up runs. All Cars must dial on or under the national index for their class Tech Committee has the right to inspect at any time (to be class legal) Lane Choice will be determined by coin flip or driver agreement. If the cars are un-even in the lanes we will pair from front to back with the car in the front getting the chosen lane. |

Dan,
Yes they will, I am not having tear-downs, heads-up runs or fuel checks at this race so you must dial the index or below it in eliminations. I kept the rules pretty much the same as Brian and Lee had it with a few little twerks. I know you can up to Numidia last year and ran both the CIC Race and Combo Race. Any questions feel free to e-mail me.. Rob Keister Rekeister@aol.com |
