I pass thru 150th street on my commute.
Back in the day it was a monster of a race spot as they came from far and wide from local states to challenge the NY cars. It was a hot spot even 7 nights sometimes earlymornings a week.
I will look into this book as it is first I have heard of it.
One of the Mutt Bros sons used to post on a local site some years ago and I think still raced Mopars.

The only proof I need as to which cars were faster us the NHRA classes.

Alloy block Camaros ran SS/C IN 1969 - in fact Jenkins lost to Vankes 65 Race Hemi in one at the Indy Nationals.

The Hemi Darts & Cudas ran in SS/B...their ETs were 4/10ths quicker than Jenkins SS/C car

Paul Ceasrine’s research has confirmed alloy block 427s raced in SS/C in 69

And yet ‘gurus’ like Doug Boyce (Arch Stanton) and Gary Glover still insist Jenkins never raced a ZL1 in 69.....but have not as yet, come up with an alternative JENKINS 69 SS/C combo.....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I don't recall the specifics...but Jenkins didn't race at Dallas. I can't remember if the car didn't qualify, or if there was a rule issue. I can dig into that more later, I have a pretty good file on the 1969 Dallas World Finals at home.

Not sure about Dallas, but he raced SS/C at Indy, lost to Vanke’s 65 car. :cool:
