Re: Live from Inaugural New England Nationals!
Just got back from Friday qualifying and it was a packed house. Track looks to be in great shape. Stick cars were spinning pretty badly though.. Everyone else appeared to be running well. I hope sat and sun pack them in. They say the surface is very smooth.

Re: Live from Inaugural New England Nationals!
There were bald spots on the starting line in both lanes, despite repeating track dragging. You had to carefully avoid them when staging. Not everyone was able to, resulting in some unhappy campers.

Re: Live from Inaugural New England Nationals!
I swore I saw Filipone's stick shift car in robsneed4speed Q1 video but not seeing him anywhere on qualifying sheet or in eliminations. Have I gone crazy and senile already? 30th bday in a few days, is this a sign?

Bobby: It is my understanding that Filipone made a run before he handed in his tech card, and they told him he was out. I did see him Thursday morning and saw his empty pit spot Thursday after noon.

Re: Live from Inaugural New England Nationals!
Here's a few observations from Epping.
This will be a major race . Yes the Pro turnout was light ,but it sure didn't affect the spectator turn out ! ....the stands were absolutely packed ! When I left there were cars parked for about 2 miles on both shoulders of the highway ! they definitely need more improvements for the Sportsman parking, the area at the top of the track , where the later cars were pitted was beyond poor ! I can only compare the crowd and atmosphere to that of Columbus back in it's heyday ! considering how the track temps changed over three days, the track was generally good for all but a few clutch cars and one or two supercharged Mustangs ! |
