Kurt, when I jumped back in this with my buddy Kevin about 7 years ago, despite being good with engines and transmissions, I stepped face first into a steep learning curve, and got my *** handed to me. Some really good guys stepped up and helped me a great deal. Barry Polley was the first, he hooked me up with Clark Holroyd. Clark hooked me up with Keith Lynch and Darrel Wikle. Then Woodro Josey stepped up and helped me. Some guys who used to own Kevin's car contacted me, Steve Calabro and Joe Fasano, and gave me more help. Then Arnold Greene lent a hand. I started working with Jimmy Bridges, who I have known for decades, and Jimmy has been a huge help. Darrel Wikle hooked me up with Tim Cole and Keith Jones at Total Seal. Kevin Helms has helped us as well, so has Barry Parker. Even Peter Biondo and Anthony Bertozzi have helped us a lot. The list of guys who have offered me help and advice reads like a "Who's Who" of Stock and Super Stock, and for that I will be forever grateful.

So, the way I look at it, "from those to whom much is given, much is expected", and I try to live up to that.

We may not have the fastest car out there, but we're rock solid and a decent threat, few people just look to the next round when they have us, not too many think they're getting a free pass. However, I'll be the first to admit that without all the help I got, I'd still be years behind. So if I can help someone, I'll always try to lend a hand.

We race on a shoe string budget, and do almost everything ourselves. Jimmy Bridges does our heads now, Peanut Watson and I do our machine work together. I build our engines, transmissions, and most often, our rear ends. Kevin does most of the suspension work, and we share wiring and plumbing. So we're not fast like the Sorensons, Bobby DeArmond (who has also given a little help) or some of the others, because we don't have the money or time to race and test as much as we'd like.

PRW Pro series Stainless $299.50
COMP Cams Hi-tech Stainless $384.00
Crower Enduro Stainless $526.00

Not familiar with PRW and Crower is sure at the top of the $$ range so my gut tells me COMP.
Also would like to know everyone's pushrod choices (brand and wall thickness) as i would imagine i will need to purchase new also for correct length/geometry.

One final stupid question. I assume i have to run guide plates?

Sorry for all the questions but i am new to Stock and would really like some veteran guidance here.

Thanks!
Kurt
