Re: Piston perfromance
Dwight, now we are getting somewhere. Strictly stock. Would the flat top with notches be worth carrying the extra 260 lbs? Rough HP number on a dyno, 10, 15, 20 HP less from the dish piston?
The flat with notches is a better piston but would it worth the weight? I am asking a lot without much info, lol that why class racers are the best! |
Re: Piston perfromance
In most cases a spherical dish will make the most power,However there are a lot of variables.Bill C.

Re: Piston perfromance
A dish also means more volume in total, a bigger bomb in theory
and we can fool the engine into thinking its got more compression than it really does. |
Re: Piston perfromance
joe I have 2 complete tune port 350s throttlebody to oil pans that I have run and dyno tested one is 1989 and one is 1990 all engine specs are the same except one is a flat top 4 valve reliefs and one is dish 4 relief when all testing and flogging was done there was only 2 or 3 horse power and and three or four hunderth different the only big plus is the 1989 is rated at 4 less hp we can talk more at etown if you want sorry about the grammar ok I am off the soap box gene monahan

Re: Piston perfromance
I was thinking we could all chip in and get Joe a play station 3 to occupy him so he stops with these weird ideas. Still thinking about the 2 BBL.? Just busting them, see you at E-Town.
