I do agree its crazy even checking it unless its a heads up run. But I'm sure they have their reasons.

David,

I'm afraid you need to get your facts straight. My Father crossed the scale at around 9:00 am and continued to drive up the main road. He did not make the left to drive up the road that fuel check was taking place, because he did not see anyone motioning for him to do so. We were parked nowhere near there so it would not make sense for him to drive that direction anyway. There are a few red mustangs that were racing at the track this weekend. I watched watched Carroll Morris drive up that road warming up his super stocker during Stock Round 1. You may have confused his red mustang with ours? In any case, I think my dad remembers what road he drove down after crossing the scale. Hope this clears things up.

Just wondering how does the IHRA handle scales and fuel check after each round? Does this same thing happen there?

Ryan,

Sorry for the mix up. You're right, I was thinking of another Mustang. So I don't sound as stupid, NHRA was freaking out about a Mustang, but it obviously it wasn't him.

Is it possible the officials did the same thing as well?

David,

No offense was taken by your previous post. I just didn't want this post to spiral out of control. My dad weighed and drove up the main road and back to where we were parked. He didn't see an official motion for him to go to fuel check, so he kept driving. In no way was it intentional to bypass fuel check. It was simply a mistake. He spoke to the officials about it and took full responsibility for what happened. It was unfortunate that it happened and in the end it cost my dad a round win. He went through fuel check thursday and there were no issues with our fuel. Just wanted to clear things up. Some of these threads on here get out of control real fast.
