   WOW - - Being from Div. 6 gives me some fine choices to pick from. All are capable to pull off the win. There are 8 choices in both Stock and Super Stock to pick, so here goes. Final in stock - - Jody Lang and Mark Faul. Final in super stock - - Jackie Alley and Jody Lang. Look at the list of entrants and you see this wasn't an easy choice. Good luck to all the guys and gals at the first race of the year.

Looks like we will have to sit this one and Phoenix out. A broken foot will keep me off my feet for a few weeks. Tony Mandella will shoe the Wicked Stitchz stocker at Pomona and Phoenix since the Grape Ape is suffering from a bad case of shredded valve train components.

The winners will be the true fans of Super Stock who will be watching from wherever, the fans who see every session and round. Myself and Mrs. SuperStocks@LionsDragStrip would time our mornings on Thursday thru Saturday so we would watch Super Stock.

For example, of my traditions was to get there before the races start. Watch Stock, then take a pit walk while the boring electronic 90 cars would run, then I would go stand at the back of the lanes just when the entire field would pull in in a parade of American muscle. There were 2 other folks like me that I could count on to be there as well, one guy was from Japan.

Then just as the last car would pull in I would hustle up to the seats just minutes before the session, bust out the ol video camera and just enjoy this fine class. Great stuff. On Saturdays when first round was run, there was a group of us up in section 8, we all stood on the top row, cheered or groaned depending on who won. We especially cheered on any 4-speed or SS/AA.

The winners once again are the fans and racers of this class. Enjoy!!

SuperStocks@LionsDragStrip...or Barry Poole at Pomona

I like Mike Cotton going to the finals again, and winning without last year's theatrics. Etter is my second pick, love that Shadow. Hard to beat Peter or Jimmy but think Jon Irving is going to have a breakout year, starting at Pomona. Hard worker and dedicated racer he is!

In the Classifieds I see Jim Waldo lowered the price on their stick Mustang...gives 24 hours for a good stick driver to buy it and enter Pomona with it, what a killer car, forgive the shameless bump to Jim's thread.

Conspicuously miissing from the list are Fletcher and Iacono who usually travel to this race.Remember Fletcher had some pretty good luck on the Wet Coast last year!
