Re: Crank for SBF SS/GT?
Thanks for the input. These are the ones that are in my budget:
Scat Eagle I think the Eagle is the one on the list but the numbers aren't an exact match. The main issue I have as a first time builder is that the process for approving a part is a bit of a mystery unless you know a bunch of seasoned racers. Just a paragraph in the General section of the rules explaining the process would remove the mystery for a lot of us. Maybe I'll just build an exploding Funny car or sideways ProMod. They seem to rate above Sportsman. Dale |
Re: Crank for SBF SS/GT?
RPM lists a closeout 302 forged crank for about $350.00. Might be worth a look if you can get an approval.

Hey,
I think I have what you want... The NHRA "approved:" crank, SuperStock ready. All work done by Bullet, stroked .013, 2.00" (small chevy) rods, .010 under mains, heat treated, etc.. Crower had the rods in stock ... New in the box never placed in a block Check it out http://classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=50145 |
Re: Crank for SBF SS/GT?
I'll keep that in mind, Steve. It's the right part number. I won't know my exact crank specs until I get my block machined. Shipping across country (Washington State) would probably add $100 easy to that price (I'm sure it's fair). I'll let you know one way or the other. Might take a couple of weeks.
Thanks again. Dale |
