Re: Oldest Drag Strip
Thorn Hill dragstrip in northern Kentucky.
'Thornhill Dragstrip is a family owned and operated drag racing business located in Kenton County, KY. Thornhill Dragstrip is the world's oldest, CONTINUOUSLY running drag strip. Legend has it that Thornhill was first built by moonshiners during the prohibition as a dirt airstrip, allowing them to transport their hootch right under the noses of local authority. Operating on only 6 hours a week since a court noise ordinace, Thornhill has become the little track that could, beating all odds.' Raced there once, even though I lived in Cincinnati. Wonder if they still have the weird starting line 'clocks' instead of a Christmas tree. http://thornhilldragstrip.wix.com/thornhilldragstrip |

Bret, Redding's website states they have been NHRA sanctioned
since the fall of 1955. |
Re: Oldest Drag Strip
They contacted me about it, Skydog. They thought they were the oldest NHRA track on the planet. They were EXTREMELY wrong.
